Heard of Kokomo Beach restaurant in St. Maarten?
Remember the song from the Beach Boys called “Kokomo”?
On St. Maarten we have our very own Kokomo with beach boys… and girls 🙂
It’s Kokomo restaurant in Indigo Bay, but so much more than just a restaurant! It’s also a bar, and off course, right on the beach so plenty of swimming, sunbathing and eating to be done… They are fairly new, have opened their doors only 2 years ago, which reflects on the incredible service and quality of the food and drinks they serve, as they still need to “prove” their worth!
When you’re in St Maarten next time, make sure to check these guys out, their food and ambiance is amazing!
Want to party? Every Sunday starting at 4pm they have the ultimate beach party on the island, with different local dj’s and lots of sun, sea and sand! And off course when you eat from the restaurant, you will be able to use their beach umbrellas and chairs without charge.
Their Chef is from a small region in Italy called Emilia Romagna, and has been passionate about food ever since he was just a child. His mom and grandma have provided him with this love from a young age, always cooking with freshly caught fish, freshly picked veggies and fruits, and drinking wine from the many vineyards in their hometown.
He travelled the world after graduating from an Italian culinary school and earning a bachelor degree in Economics and Marketing, and went on to attend the “Italian Genius Academy Chef”.
He worked in Milano and Sydney, and ended up on our little island. He truly puts his heart into his cooking and is very creative with quality ingredients, colorful food and exciting flavors. You really have to try his cuisine to taste for yourself!
When you go on Tripadvisor you will notice a lot of mention about them being a bit pricey, which is true…however you will get bang for your buck! The food is superb, and plenty to go around… The service is amazing, very attentive without hovering over you like a mosquito, and the beach… Man, that beach! Its crystal clear waters, white powder sand and hardly any crowds!
If you’re looking for a hideaway, a unique experience away from the hustle and bustle of the regular restaurants and/or beaches, this is your bet. You’ll come for the food, and stay for the beach.
